Chase the Comet (Russia-LA)
Russia originated band based out of Los Angeles coming to San Antonio for the first time!
In 2016 ’Chase the Comet’ members, frontwoman Nika Comet and guitarist Alexander Mishustov booked a one way ticket from Moscow, Russia to Los Angeles, CA leaving behind a successful band in their home country to follow their dreams and ‘deliver their music to the whole world’.
Starting a new life in the United Stated, Nika and Alex began playing in legendary Los Angeles venues such as ‘Whisky a Go-Go’ (opening up for Michale Graves (ex-MISFITS) and Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple, Rainbow), ’Viper Room’, ‘Loaded’, ‘Musicians Institute’, ’Skinny’s Lounge’ and events such as ‘Tattoo Expo’ at Pomona Fairplex. Staying loyal to their passion, they began the search to find perfect musicians to complete the new band.
After a short search, ’Chase the Comet’ drummer, Elliott Samson, and later, bassist Tony Smith, auditioned for the part and soon became integral members of the band.
All members of ‘Chase the Comet’ have had significant experience as successful session musicians in many projects: with over 20 years of experience behind the kit, Elliott has played played stages all over the world including the Staples Center in Los Angeles and Manhattan’s Central Park with headlining acts.
Guitarist, Alex Mishustov has shared huge stages opening for the likes of ‘Metallica’, ‘Linkin Park’, ‘Muse’ and ‘Incubus’, just to name a few!
Bassist Tony Smith played at such great venues as Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre and the Greek Theater as part of bands ‘The Edge’ and ‘Jettison’ and is endorsed by such companies as Yamaha, Hartke, Line 6, etc.
Vocalist Nika Comet has an impressive resume, teaching vocals and providing backing vocals for one of the most popular Russian rock-bands ‘TARAKANY!’ so ‘Chase the Comet’ can be fairly called a supergroup.
