History

Sanchos Cantina y Cocina opened on February 14, 2015 in San Antonio’s historic Five Points neighborhood, offering exclusively Mexican beer, tequila and scratch-made dishes designed to transport guests to an authentic corner of Mexico. The founders converted a small residence just off busy San Pedro Avenue into a full service cantina, cocina and entertainment venue that has since become a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike.

Sanchos’ founders Samuel Asvestas and Rob Barnett drew on their time living “south of the border” to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere where anyone could go and experience the feel and flavors of Mexico, every day of the year. In keeping with their vision, Sanchos has welcomed guests every day since, now more than 2,500 consecutive days and counting.
